  • One To Watch 06- Designer + Confidence builder Stella Carakasi

You may have realized from reading along here that I’ve never met a black dress I didn’t like. For me, this is the foundation of a wardrobe that matters-of timeless staples- of fewer, better things. That is an understatement for designer Stella Carakasi, based in Berkeley, CA.

The secret to Stella Carakasi’s design’s is a harmony of clean lines and attention to the finest details- and the highest of quality, which honestly you can only know by experience. Wearing her clothes is an experience.

Many of her pieces make for the perfect blank canvas, which I feel makes for a gold mine of a wardrobe. You will ALWAYS get your ROI because you can (& will) wear them hundreds of different ways simply by swapping out accessories & extras.

Simplicity is a powerful choice that projects confidence.

Stella Carakasi is a brand wth purpose above all else. Stella is committed to empowering and inspiring women by designing beautiful clothing for real women to wear in real life. Make sure you check out her Amazing Women Campaign, where she highlights the ambition and heart of the real women who wear her clothes.

I’ve had the privilege of getting to know the founder and designer of this exquisite brand and even a few of her devoted employees. Her passion for creating beautiful pieces to instill confidence in women of all genres is refreshing and invigorating, and most definitely magnetic, which you can’t help but experience from walking through the doors of her newest store on Fourth Street in Berkeley, CA (a must-do if you’re in the area).

I consider anything made by Stella Carakasi to be a sustainable choice because her clothes are made to last- to be worn & cherished over the ages, to be mixed & matched, and most definitely to be loved. Aside from the sheer fact that your cost-per-wear will grow very low, many of her pieces are made with sustainability in mind, manufactured locally in SF, and many using materials such as hemp, wool and organic cotton.

I know I said it before but it’s true- you could never know the quality of Stella’s clothes until you’ve worn and lived in them. Nothing else I’ve ever worn feels quite like them.
I’m confident if you wear one of her pieces, you’ll fall in love!

Get involved. Become part of the movement for a healthier, more sustainable fashion world. I believe that together we can change the face of fashion.  Wear what you love and wear what empowers you. Also consider where your clothes were made and who made them. Your purchase may empower the person who made them (or not).

Shop wisely. Every purchase is a vote. Make yours count. Dress in clothing you love and that have a positive impact on you and the rest of the world.

*The items featured on this blog are what I consider sustainable fashion and/or are items I have owned for a very long time- which I would then consider a sustainable fashion choice simply for the longevity of it.
